Neptune

Neptune. (Ilford Delta 100. Nikon F100. Noritsu Koki.)
This is part of a larger sandsculpture by the Indian artist Sudarsan Pattnaik. It was entered in the North American Sandsculpting Championships, held last month in my hometown of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Thank you so much for shooting with film, taking such beautiful images, and blogging about it! You remind us all that film is not dead; so dust off your 35mm and load t up. Thanks for inspiring me today!

Thank you for sharing this! It’s just so cool, the expression on the statue’s face. You really have talent

this sandsculpture is unbelievable! It always amazes me how much detail artists can get when working with sand! I can barely build a sand castle

Oh, I know. Some people can work with just about anything and make art. Stay tuned – I have a bunch more of these sandsculpture shots from the competition.

I thought this was a statue. I love the detail you produce, and I’ve always liked how you manage to capture ‘life’ in a statue. Great.
